A few years ago I was the Creative Director for a Christian entertainment company in La Jolla. As a young ‘professional’, at that time only 16-17 years old, I had to learn to overcome the ‘disability of my age’. My job required me to work with people who had years of experience and wisdom beyond my own.

The CEO of the company was one of my mentors both in work and life. During one of our conversations she gave me some advice that I’m just now learning to apply. Her wisdom came in the form of two simple words: slow down.

I tend to move very quickly, no matter what I’m doing. One of my personal challenges is learning to slow down and soak up every last bit of each task I set my mind to. It’s fun.
