I was chatting with Colin on Facebook just now. He started our conversation with ‘dude you need to blog’.
I sat in my office and hung my head in shame, realizing that I indeed, have been neglecting my blog. In turn, I have been neglecting you, my faithful readers. By the way, a ton of you still visit my blog all the time, despite lack of new content. Which cracks me up slash is awesome.
In any case – I’m not going to stop blogging, I’m not going to disappear (sorry), I just need to get back in the groove of writing!
This has been a really interesting summer. Here are a few observations:
1. This has been the cloudiest summer I can remember. We haven’t had a single sunny beach day with Jr. High or High School. I’m hoping that means that this winter will be the sunniest winter ever! #aboycandream
2. Speaking of that hashtag reference above, I’ve been tweeting like crazy. This is definitely the summer of twitter. Slowly but surely I’m getting a ton of people to use it! I know there are some twitter haters out there who will try to play the ‘we need more human contact’ card, and I agree. If you are basing your social life completely around reading what other people are doing all day on their twitters, and you never actually go out and connect with people – you need to get off your butt and live life! However, for the rest of us, it’s cool to know what we’re all doing. Call it hyper-connected, retarded or whatever you want. Twitter is awesome.
3. This summer, I’ve been going through a lifestyle change. I’m not drinking coffee, I’m going to bed early, waking up early and working out most mornings before work. I’m spending more time at home. I’m ‘vegging’ out more just watching movies. I have way more energy during the day than ever before, and because of that I’m getting so much more work done. Because I’m getting more work done, I feel less behind at the end of the day. It’s good. I like it. We’ll see how things go when school starts.
4. I haven’t taken a single week off yet, not even for camp. You know that things are changing at church when I don’t go on any youth camps, but I am going on the weekend getaway married couple’s retreat. I AM taking a week of personal leave to go to Puerto Vallarta with my dad and brother! I’m super excited for that. I won’t have my phone on! Crazy.
There’s a great recap of summer, actually. See, you’re all caught up now! I didn’t need to blog after all…
I’ll get back at you soon, promise.
